Owen's Halloween Party

Owen has wanted to have a Halloween party for at least a month now. It all started with his cousin, Macie, bringing a Woman's Day Halloween magazine over to our house in September. They were looking at the pictures and decided they wanted to have a party. Right then. Macie was sleeping over, so we had time... and the coolest mom in the world... so we had an impromptu Halloween sleepover (in September).

They started out making spooky sticks, which consisted of 3"x3" squares of paper that they decorated and then taped onto wooden skewers. This took quite a long time. While they were doing that, I spray painted some apples black, and they got to paint their "pumpkins faces." Also fun. We then got mason jars out, and they decorated their jars with skeletons, spiders, vampire teeth, and spider webs. I was actually impressed with myself for having all this on hand - and it all went so smoothly! They took out their spooky jars and sticks and placed them in my flower garden to "scare" away any spooks. It was cute!

So back to my post. Owen has wanted to have another party since that one. So we finally did it. Here are some pics:

Owen was a little upset because he couldn't pop his pumpkin balloon. The object of the game was to be the first to pop your pumpkin... and his was one tough little pumpkin! He hates to not be the "winner."
